NYSCF’s 6th Annual Gala kicked off the Annual Translational Stem Cell Research Conference in October. 

The Sixth Annual New York Stem Cell Foundation Gala was the grand opening of NYSCF's Science Fair cocktail hour, designed by David Rockwell – an unprecedented evening showcasing NYSCF scientists and their groundbreaking work. The evening honored Julian H. Robertson, Jr. and the artist Christo, with awards presented by New York City's Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Joel Fleishman.

On June 22, 2011, the NYSCF Laboratory hosted a reception celebrating the new NYSCF - Golub Stem Cell Initiative for Parkinson's Disease. The evening included a plaque unveiling commemorating the new initiative and a tour of the lab with demonstrations from NYSCF researchers.

On June 16th, NYSCF hosted a dinner for scientists attending the ISSCR Conference in Toronto, Ontario. The dinner was held at the c5 Restaurant in the new wing of the Royal Ontario Museum designed by Daniel Libeskind.

On June 7, 2011, NYSCF welcomed seven new postdoctoral researchers to its Fellowship Program at a reception featuring remarks from two current NYSCF-Druckenmiller Fellows on their research.

The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) held its sixth annual spring public outreach event to bring together leading stem cell scientists with patient advocates to describe current efforts to apply stem cell research to finding new treatments and cures for Parkinson’s disease.

On January 19, NYSCF held the annual winter meeting of the NYSCF Medical Advisory Board. NYSCF MAB member and Vice President of Research in Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine at Life Technologies Dr. Mahendra Rao, NYSCF-Robertson Investigator Paul Tesar and NYSCF-Druckenmiller Fellow Marco Seandel presented on their research and the state of the field.

This short film, which gives an update on the state of stem cell research and highlights some of NYSCF's programs, premiered at the Fifth Annual Gala Dinner Celebration.

NYSCF's Fifth Annual Dinner Celebration took place Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 6:30 pm at The Rockefeller University. NYSCF was pleased to honor Dorothy Lichtenstein with the NYSCF Humanitarian Award, presented by Chuck Close and Agnes Gund.
