Partnership Results in the Availability of Fully-Sequenced Stem Cell Lines

News Press Release

A collaboration beginning in 2013 between the NYSCF Research Institute and the Personal Genome Project (PGP) has resulted in the availability of a unique new stem cell resource for scientists around the world.

PGP participants volunteered to provide skin samples for research that NYSCF Research Institute scientists turned into induced pluripotent stem cell lines using the NYSCF Global Stem Cell Array.

Uniquely, most of the stem cell lines are fully or partially sequenced, making them especially useful in drug development research and other research pursuits. The stem cell lines will be made available to researchers around the world at all types of organizations, including academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, independent research consortia, and non-profit institutes.
