Dr. Scherrer is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Anesthesiology and Neurosurgery at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he is proposing to alter the brain’s interpretation of pain signals to eliminate the unpleasantness associated with pain and restore patients’ quality of life. Long term, he hopes to discover new drugs that can interfere with the function of neurons to ultimately provide pain relief and provide a therapeutic solution for millions of patients. Dr. Scherrer received his PhD from University of Strasbourg, France and completed his postdoctoral studies at Columbia University.
