Scientists led by John Dick at Toronto’s University Health Network say that they have finally captured the stem cell that has the potential to regenerating the entire blood system.  The UNH team has shown that one cell alone could repopulate the entire blood supply in their mouse models.  This discovery could potentially alleviate the need to find matching bone marrow donors.
