Bio
Dr. Campigli Di Giammartino is aiming to shed light on a novel mechanism that induces normal cell types to acquire stem cell-like properties. The current understanding of this process revolves around the presence of specific transcription factors, proteins involved in gene expression. Her research supports the notion that physical rearranging of chromatin, the building blocks of chromosomes, is also an important part of the process. She is currently a Principal Investigator at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) Center for Human Technologies (CHT).
