Bio
Dr. Cimetta focused on creating a more biologically sound environment for stem cells to grow. The current practice of placing cells on a dish does not closely resemble the environment in the human body. Dr. Cimetta proposed the development and implementation of technology platforms enabling the spatial and temporal control of factors regulating cell fate and function. She was able to implement this research to co-found EpiBone, a biotechnology company that allows patients to grow their own bone. She completed her postdoctoral studies at Columbia in Dr. Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic’s lab.
