Bio

Dr. Cohn is a visionary nurse leader and national and international translational nurse scientist with expertise and recognition in health equity, precision medicine, and community-engaged research. She began her career working at North Shore University Hospital in the emergency department and in critical care units for more than 25 years. Dr. Cohn was named the Obama White House Champion of Change in Precision Medicine and Health Equity and is an award-winning speaker on health equity, civic engagement, and social justice. She has authored many publications, including the Principles of Community Engagement (Third Edition), a seminal Centers for Disease Control and National Institutes of Health study. Prior to joining Northwell Health, she was on faculty at Columbia and the Rudin Professor of Community Health at the Hunter College School of Nursing.

Dr. Cohn received her Ph.D. in Nursing from Columbia University.

Dr. Cohn serves as an external advisor on NYSCF’s biobank.
