Bio

Dr. Wells studies how a protein called GDF11 regulates production of myelin – the insulation around our nervous system cells that helps them send signals, and which is lost in neurodegenerative diseases such as multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s. She hopes this work will lead to better strategies for reversing aging-related cognitive decline by stimulating myelin production.
