Lisa Giocomo, PhD
Assistant Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine
PhD, Boston University
Postdoctoral Training, Boston University; Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway
Dr. Giocomo is aiming to understand how the brain forms grid cells, which are crucial building blocks of a navigation system that help the brain to accurately represent and remember an external spatial environment. She and her lab are attempting to unmask the algorithms that underlay this type of computation in the brain in order to substantially improve our understanding of the roles these mechanisms and functions play in shaping our personal cognitive experience.
