Bio
Dr. Ee is interested in improving the efficiency and accuracy of turning adult cells, like skin cells, into functionable induced pluripotent stem cells by studying a subset of genes that have been shown to aid in this process. She is also examining how restructuring chromatin, the protein-DNA substance that packages the genome into the cell’s nucleus, mediates the activity of essential stem cell genes. This research could lead to a better understanding of stem cell formation and improved regenerative therapies.
