Michael Duran, PhD
Manager, External Relations at NYSCF
Bio
Dr. Duran completed his PhD at UC San Diego, where his research focused on understanding how the brain accumulates mutations with age. After his doctoral work, he was recruited to Columbia University Irving Medical School as a postdoctoral scientist, where he worked in the lab of Professor Kristin Baldwin studying the prevalence of mutations in stem cells. With dual expertise in stem cells and neuroscience, Dr. Duran enjoys discussing NYSCF’s exciting research and what it means for our community.
