Bio
Dr. van der Stegen is working to genetically engineer stem cell-derived T-cells, cells of the immune system, that will be specifically directed towards attacking cancer cells. If successful, this would lay the foundation for further therapeutic application of the unlimited, readily available immune cells for cancer, infections diseases, and autoimmune diseases. She is currently engaged in her postdoctoral studies at MSKCC in Dr. Michel Sadelain’s lab.
