Non-Profits Diversify, Innovate New York’s Economy
NYSCF hosted a paneled discussion, The New Nonprofit: Driving Economic Development in NYC, on how non-profit organizations impact and drive growth in New York’s economy. Darren Walker, Ford Foundation, posed questions to a panel that included Robert Hammond, Friends of the High Line, Seth Pinsky, New York City Economic Development Corporation, Tom Wright, Regional Plan Association, and Susan L. Solomon, NYSCF. Their discussion underscored the importance of private philanthropy to drive innovation, from the generation of stem cell lines to radically transform drug research and development to the creation of the High Line park.
