NYSCF Researchers Identify New Gene Targets in Early-Onset Alzheimer’s
Press ReleaseNYSCF scientists, in collaboration with scientists from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, successfully created and used a stem cell model of familial Alzheimer’s disease to identify fourteen genes that may be implicated in the disease. One of the genes found in the study is related to inflammation and may show the importance of brain inflammation in the manifestation and progress of all types of Alzheimer’s disease.
