Bio
Dr. Hsiao is an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology & Physiology at University of California, Los Angeles. Her laboratory is studying the gut microbiota, an important modulator of brain function and behavior. She is examining the microbiome as an interface between gene-environment interactions in neurological diseases. She aims to dissect biological circuits for communication between the gut microbiota and nervous system towards understanding fundamental biological pathways that influence brain and behavior. She completed her postdoctoral studies at California Institute of Technology.
