Larry Luchsinger, PhD
Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at New York Blood Center
2013 NYSCF – Druckenmiller Fellow Alumnus

Bio
Dr. Luchsinger focused on the role of a specific protein on the maintenance and self-renewal of blood stem cells, located in bone marrow. Scientists have successfully achieved treatments of diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma through transplantation to replace these stem cells. Understanding the biology of the role this protein has may improve targeted therapies to treat diseases of blood stem cell origin. He completed his postdoctoral studies at Columbia in Dr. Hans Snoeck’s lab.
