Bio
Dr. Lauren Orefice is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Molecular Biology at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Department of Genetics at Harvard Medical School. Her lab studies the development and function of somatosensory and viscerosensory circuits that mediate our sense of touch and sensations from the gastrointestinal system, respectively, and how these circuits are altered in developmental disorders including autism spectrum disorder. Dr. Orefice received her PhD from Georgetown University and completed postdoctoral studies at Harvard Medical school.
