Webinar on the Global Stem Cell Consortium, Featuring Dr. Scott Noggle

The Global Stem Cell Consortium, funded by the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, is an international effort to derive Alzheimer’s disease models from patients’ skin samples through stem cell techniques to better understand and, ultimately, find a cure for this devastating disease. Capitalizing on the NYSCF Global Stem Cell Array, the group will produce and bank standardized stem cell lines as a resource for the scientific community.

Dr. Scott Noggle, the Director of the NYSCF laboratory and the NYSCF–Charles Evans Senior Research Fellow for Alzheimer’s disease, was joined by collaborator Dr. Samuel Gandy, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and David Shenk, author of the national bestseller The Forgetting, Alzheimer’s: Portrait of an Epidemic, in a discussion on the application of stem cells to accelerate the pace of Alzheimer’s research.
