Bio
During his fellowship, Dr. Rompolas visualized and documented the behavior of the skin hair follicle as a model to study stem cell behavior under different physiological and disease states, such as abnormal tumor growth. He continues this research at University of Pennsylvania as an independent investigator. His work emphasizes the role stem cells could play in the progression of cancer in key organs, suggesting the presence of cancer could invoke processes from when the cell was developing in its early stages. He completed his postdoctoral studies at Yale in Dr. Valentina Greco’s lab.
