Bio

Dr. Raynaud studied a number of different stem cell types during his fellowship. His main research involved the interaction of blood stem cells with mesenchymal stem cells, cells that can turn into bone or muscle cells, and endothelial stem cells, cells that can turn into blood vessel cells. He also studied the interaction between mesenchymal stem cells and ovarian cancer cells as the cancer cells become increasingly resistant to chemotherapy. He is currently aiming to turn stem cells into heart cells for tissue regeneration. He completed his postdoctoral studies at Weill Cornell, Qatar in Dr. Arash Rafii’s lab.
